The De Vere Code by Jonathan Bond – published by Real Press
Real Press is delighted to announce the release of a new book that brings astonishing evidence surrounding the authorship debate about Shakespeare’s sonnets:

“A 400-year-old cypher--unlocked. An epic Elizabethan love story--uncovered.

Many have suggested that the name Shakespeare was a mask concealing the identity of a hidden poet, but nothing has ever been proved. Until now.

In THE DE VERE CODE, one of the most dazzling encryptions in the history of secret writing is decyphered, conclusively establishing the true author of SHAKE-SPEARES SONNETS.

After four centuries shrouded in mystery, this remarkable new evidence also reveals the identity of sonnets' inspirer -- the Fair Youth -- and explains the circumstances surrounding the publication of the most famous love poems ever written.
If you thought you knew Shakespeare -- think again.”

CAT-O Training receives College of Occupational Therapy endorsement
The Pearson CAT-O Training that was developed as an e-learning course by Real Training has been officially endorsed by the College of Occupational Therapists.

Overall the assessors stated that the online training tool is a good way of delivering training in the current climate where many staff are unable to attend courses. The assessors also commented that having access to the training and support for a period of 2 years will reinforce learning.  This is a well presented programme and whilst it does not carry recognised academic credits it will be valuable to practice staff working with complex clients in a variety of settings.

Further commendations from the assessors included:

  • Delivery method enables students to work at home and at their own pace, moving backwards and forward through the programme.
  • “trial assessment” before final version – good practice and clear information regarding level required to progress.
  • Good use of discussion area and links provided to web-pages for articles

To discuss your e-learning needs with Real Training, please visit www.realtraining.co.uk or contact us on 01273 35 80 80.

Real Business Manager
In the current economic climate many sales executives are so relieved whenever they make a car sale that they often overlook the additional sources of income that can be created by the sales of add-on Finance and Insurance products.

Being aware of this opportunity, Barretts of Canterbury approached Real Group (UK) Ltd in 2008 to start discussions about developing a Business Information Management System that might address this need.

Furthermore, the automotive group realised that it took them a long time to manually create financial reports. Real Group proposed a hosted system which helps the automotive group manage Finance and Insurance Sales.

Over the following few months, Real Group (UK) Ltd developed a web-based business information system that

  • collects sales information from the various dealerships
  • creates real-time group financial reports
  • provides sales executives wiht dynamic league tables
  • highlights Finance and Insurance sales performance via a traffic light system

The system has been implemented by the automotive group and Barretts save 50% of the time that the Group Finance Manager spent in manually creating financial reports.

Launch of Level A Certificate of Competence in Occupational Testing
Real Training is delighted to announce the launch of their Level A Certificate of Competence in Occupational Testing (CCOT). This course, accredited by the British Psychological Society, is the ‘industry standard’ for the use of ability tests in occupational settings.

Following the same model as Real Training’s established Certificate of Competence in Educational Testing, Level A CCOT offers a cost-effective and flexible route to achieving competence in occupational testing. A choice of study routes is available: including blended learning, intensive face-to-face and in-house courses. There is also a 1-day Test Administration option for delegates who want to gain a qualification in the administration and scoring of tests.

Ability testing is widely used in recruitment, with upwards of 70 per cent of organisations using tests as part of their selection procedures for at least some roles. Research has also shown ability testing to be one of the single best predictors of job performance and success on work-related training courses.

The Level A CCOT qualification is widely recognised in the UK, with all the major test publishers using it as the standard to allow access to their ability test materials. In addition to the established use of ability testing in areas such as recruitment, users are also finding applications in a growing number of areas including:

  • individual, team and organisational development
  • careers guidance
  • coaching
  • talent management
  • outplacement.

For more information about the Level A CCOT and Test Administration courses, please see www.ccot.co.uk.
